Prologue – Beginning of a journey of its own kind
Renaissance College of Commerce and Management is one of the pioneer institutes of Central India. Located in the heart of the city, the institute firmly believes in the system of parallel education.
Apart from running various university courses which are affiliated to Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, the institute, on regular basis, conducts programs and activities that focus on the overall development of the students.
When we started with the institute 14 years back, the education system at that time just relied on the texts in the books. The world was changing at a faster pace and the prescribed syllabus wasn’t just enough for the students.
Reading the pulse of time, the founders of our institute along with the routine university syllabus, introduced modules on banking, insurance, language development, personality development, tally, elementary SAP, Retail and Mall Management etc. These additional courses didn’t only prepare the students for the rapidly changing industry but also instilled in them the confidence to face the challenges of life.
Through our tiny efforts of nurturing and establishing other intellects in parallel to the running academics, we could build up different camps each catering to one different genre like the Michael Angelo club for painting, George Rodger club for photography, Estrade club for dramatics, etc. We have named them the Clubs of Renaissance. Currently there are 12 active clubs catering to the passion, hobbies and intellect of our students.
We even focus on the development of emotional quotient amongst our students through various philanthropic activities conducted under the umbrella of NSS and Muskan club. A well-developed EQ brings out the humility in students and makes them more accepting, more soaking and better human beings.
This journey of 14 years is pretty small to create a history, but with the pace that we are putting on the records, we are sure of leaving a legacy.
